Terms of service
Last updated 14 September 2026. These terms are between Kaleido Ltd and the business that opens the account. Plain English on purpose: if a line is unclear, ask us before you sign up.
Who you are dealing with
Skiplog is run by Kaleido Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17516332, whose registered office is at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ.
What Skiplog does
Skiplog is record-keeping software. It gives you a place to write waste transfer notes, holds them when your site has no signal, tracks the expiry dates you enter for carrier, broker and dealer registrations, and exports your quarter's records as a file in the column layout the Environment Agency publishes.
A note in Skiplog holds the waste description, the EWC code, the weight, the carrier and their registration number, and the destination site. A duty of care transfer note also carries the addresses of both parties, the SIC code, the receiving site's permit number, the container and the waste hierarchy declaration, signed by both sides; those stay on your own paperwork. Hazardous loads move on a consignment note, which Skiplog does not produce.
It is a tool that helps you meet the digital waste tracking requirements. It is not a filing agent, a consultancy or a substitute for your own judgement.
What stays with you
The duty of care under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, and every duty under the digital waste tracking regulations, stays with you as the waste holder. So does the accuracy of what is typed into Skiplog: waste descriptions, EWC codes, weights, carrier registration numbers and destinations are yours to check.
Submitting the return to the regulator, keeping your permits current and answering an inspector are all yours too. Skiplog prepares the record; you remain the person responsible for it.
Limitation of liability
Skiplog is provided on an "as is" basis. We do not promise any particular regulatory outcome, and using Skiplog does not by itself make a site compliant or remove the possibility of enforcement action, a fine or a prosecution.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for: data you or your staff entered incorrectly or did not enter at all; penalties, enforcement action or losses arising from your own records or your own submissions; changes the Environment Agency, DEFRA or any other body makes to formats, deadlines or rules, which are outside our control; or loss of business, profit or goodwill. Where we are liable, our total liability in any twelve month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
Changes the regulator makes
The digital waste tracking format is still being finalised. We maintain the export layout as a setting and update it when the published specification changes, but we cannot commit to a date for a change we have not seen, and we are not responsible for a rejected submission caused by a specification change outside our control.
Your records
Your transfer notes and registration records belong to you. You can export them as CSV at any time while your account is open, and we will provide an export on request within 30 days of the account closing. We process your data to run the service and for no other purpose, and we do not sell it. What is stored, where it lives and how to delete it are set out in the privacy notice.
Keep your own copies too. The regulations require you to retain transfer notes for two years, and a single system is a single point of failure.
Trial, payment and cancelling
New accounts get 30 days free. After that the plans are Yard at £39 a month, or Team at £69 a month, plus VAT. Either can instead be billed yearly at £390 or £690 a year, a 17% saving. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card details.
You can cancel at any time from the billing screen. Cancelling stops the next payment and leaves your records readable until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not refund part months.
If the trial ends and you have not picked a plan, your transfer notes and registrations stay readable and the quarterly CSV still exports. Recording new notes is what waits for a plan.
Availability
We aim to keep Skiplog available, and notes written on a device are held on that device until they sync, so an outage should not cost you a record. We do not promise uninterrupted service, and we may take the service down for maintenance.
Ending the agreement
Either of us can end this agreement with 30 days' notice. We may suspend an account immediately if it is used unlawfully or non-payment continues past a reminder.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
